Dear College Admission Expert,
I figure it’s my senior year of high school, and I’m actually sending in my applications before the semester really begins in earnest, so do colleges ever actually look at your senior grades?

Pete,
The answer is: usually. You shouldn't fall prey to senioritis just yet. Most colleges will include a clause on your letter of admission saying that you admission is dependent upon your continued good performance. In fact, it is common practice for colleges to ask for your first and second semester senior year grades to make sure you haven’t fallen off the deep end when you feel as though you are off the hook. Honestly speaking, most offers of admission don't get revoked, but get far enough off track and yours could.
