Dear College Admission Expert,
I’ve heard a lot about the Common Application. First of all, what is it? I’m a bit nervous about sending it in to all the colleges, but it sure would be convenient! What should I do?

Robert,
The Common Application is a standardized application used by a growing group of schools who accept the common application in place of their own unique application. The easiest way to complete it is online, and you can either print it out and mail it to the colleges, or submit it right online. Often, certain colleges require some supplementary material, but usually, not much beyond the common application. And don’t worry about being judged for sending in the common application. Admissions officers are people too, and they are very used to receiving the common application, and understand that students apply to a very large number of colleges these days. The application was created because of its convenience, so take the opportunity to save some time!
