Most likely, admissions officers will appreciate a student who knows what they want and get started nice and early. That way, they know that you are motivated, and are taking control of your own life. Basically, they’ll have to interview you at some point or another, so why not sooner rather than later? Just make sure that you prepare as thoroughly as possible, and have a good set of questions for the admissions officer.
