Arizona State University's Graduate College of Business is a rather large, public, coeducational institution located in the town of Tempe, Arizona, and has a combined undergraduate and graduate student population of about 47,360. The graduate business school is home to approximately 1,000 part-time and full-time graduate business students. The students have an average of about 6 years of prior full-time work experience, and the average entrance age is about 30 as a result of this fact, however, the ages range from 21 all the way up to 57. In addition, about 4% of graduate business students already have a graduate degree of some sort. The Graduate College of Business offers degrees in the Master of Accountancy and Information Systems (MAIS), Master of Taxation (MTAX), Master of Health Services Administration (MHSA), Master of Science in Information Management (MSIM), Master of Science in Economics (MSECON), Master of Business Administration (MBA), as well as a doctoral program in business economics, and joint degrees in international management (MBA/MIM), architecture (MBA/MARCH), health services administration (MBA/MHSA), law (MBA/JD), information management (MBA/MSIM) accountancy and information systems (MBA/MAIS), tax (MBA/MS Tax), as well as economics (MBA/MSECON). Some of most popular programs with students include courses in services marketing and management, supply chain management, information management, financial management and markets, as well as health services administration.

Admission to Arizona State University's Graduate College of Business is fiercely competitive among those who apply; last year, over 890 students applied for admission to the school, and approximately 260 of those students were accepted. Eventually however, only about 135 of the admitted students actually enrolled for the coming semester. The admitted students had an average undergraduate GPA of about a 3.42, as well as an average GMAT score of about 654. Students may only commence their MBA program in the Fall, and are only allowed to defer admission once.

The Graduate College of Business has a staff of 105 full-time faculty members, 96% of whom hold a doctorate degree. In addition, there are also 10 part-time faculty members, 80% of whom hold a doctorate degree. The average graduate business class size is about 45 students, and most professors teach about 2 graduate business classes.

 

Placement Services

The school's placement services are quite comprehensive, and ASU graduate business students are quite in demand. Last year, an amazing 91 companies actively recruited on campus, 85% of which were national corporations. The average starting salary of last year's graduating class was approximately $74,520, however, it ranged from $40,000 to $150,000. Last year, over 85% of the graduating students found a job within three months of receiving their degree. These placement services are also available to all alumni for an unlimited number of years after obtaining their degrees.
