The Facts

Campbell University is a rather small, private institution located in the town of Buies Creek, North Carolina, and is affiliated with the Baptist church. The university has a combined graduate and undergraduate population of over 3,000 students, however, the university's Wiggins School of Law is significantly smaller, and is home to about 370 graduate law students. The average age of enrollment is around 26, and it is quite rare for any students to enter the school directly from their undergraduate education. The law school is perhaps best known for its use of the Socratic method of teaching law, as well as its solid emphasis on the ethical practice of law. The school offers degrees in the 3 year JD program, as well as a combined degree in the JD/MBA. There aren't many options available, but the few programs are solid and allow students to hit the ground running when they graduate. Some of the most popular programs include courses in the areas of business transactions, as well as trial and appellate advocacy.

Admission to Campbell University's Wiggins School of Law is quite competitive among the relatively large number of students who apply; last year, over 1,200 students applied for admission to the school, and approximately 250 of those students were accepted. Eventually however, only about 145 of the admitted students actually enrolled for the coming semester. The admitted students had an average LSAT score ranging from 152 to 157, as well as an average undergraduate GPA of about a 3.3. Students are notified of their admissions status on a rolling basis, and there is currently no early application program in place.

The Wiggins School of Law has 48 faculty members, and students love how accessible and helpful they are. Students agree that the faculty is one of the best aspects of the school, as they are extremely experienced and truly care about their students. The school has a fairly manageable student to faculty ratio of 19:1, however, some students complain that a few of their classes are larger than they should be.

Employment Facts

Students at Campbell University's law school don't seem terribly worried about finding a job after graduation. In fact, over 98% of the most recent graduating class were able to find jobs within a few months of receiving their degree, and had an average starting salary of about $50,000. Students are most commonly hired by small to midsize firms throughout the area, as well as governmental agencies and judicial offices.
