Law School Personal Statement Articles
Take a deep breath…
By now you are probably well into the complications of applying to law school, which, as you probably well know, is more competitive than ever. Your law school applications and transcripts are going to need to be ready to go at least a month before the school's deadline. However, perhaps the defining aspect of your admissions packet, the one that could make or break your eventual admission, is your personal statement.
Before you begin to panic, let's assess your situation: You have your GPA. You took the LSAT. You've been active throughout college, carving out time for community service and your own recreational interests. Now, as you enter your last stage of preparation for law school, you finally have some influence over the immediate process. Your law school personal statement is your chance to stand out among the thousands of applicants who will be struggling and stressing right alongside you. After all, you can't change your competition, and you can't change what you've done over the last four years, but you can make sure that your law school application is your very best work.
As you write, keep in mind that even the most talented authors have proofreaders. Good writers often require a sounding board. Read as much material as you can on the personal statement then write write, write!
