The Social Scene
The town of Medford, Massachusetts is a very typical, quaint New England town, however, it doesn’t really offer students much in the way of affordable entertainment. The exciting city of Boston is only a short ride away on the city’s own T subway system, and usually, students take advantage of the city’s many cultural offerings.
There are several fraternities and sororities at the school, and the Greeks basically govern the on campus social life. Drinking is definitely the most popular mode of social interaction, and usually, students spend most of their weekend partying the night away to relieve some of the stress from the academic work week.
The dating scene is quite vibrant, and the student population is very diverse and friendly. Expect lots of attractive and friendly fish in the sea...
What’s Good
“There’s a really great sense of community here, and the school is just big enough that you have resources, but you still recognize it as a small school.”
“Just going to Tufts pretty much ensures that you will get into a terrific graduate school.”
“The campus is gorgeous, and the buildings are incredible. Just walking from class to class is awesome.”
What’s Bad
“There’s absolutely no sense of school spirit here. It would be nice to have more traditional college experiences.”
“I hate that the Greeks run everything around here. If you don’t belong to a frat or a sorority, you’re a nobody.”
“You don’t really have much time for a real social life. There’s way too much work for any real fun.”
