The Social Scene
The town of Fairbanks is quite small, and doesn’t really offer students much in the way of entertaiment, but most students who go to school in a place as relatively remote as Alaska are quite prepared for that fact, and don’t mind in the least. There are, however, plenty of outdoor activities to occupy the students time, such as hiking, biking, fishing, kayaking, even snow-shoeing and snow-mobiling in the winter, and beyond in some cases. There are only 2 fraternities and sororities, and they do host they occasional party, but for the most part, they remain pretty seperate from on campus social life.
The dating scene is very diverse, and you’ll have plenty of excuses to ask for that cute guy’s sweater...
What’s Good

What’s Bad
“There is nothing to do here. Ever.”
“The party scene is pretty lame, and people usually just hang around and smoke pot in their dorms.”
“I wouldn’t eat the food they serve in the dining halls. It’s pretty strange looking.”
